OKLAHOMA CITY, OK - The Oklahoma Democratic Party proudly congratulates Ken Martin, Chair of the Minnesota Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party and President of the Association of State Democratic Committees (ASDC), on his election as the new Chair of the Democratic National Committee (DNC). Martin was elected today with overwhelming support from DNC members, marking the beginning of an exciting new chapter in Democratic leadership.
"Oklahoma Democrats know Ken Martin well," said Alicia Andrews, Chair of the Oklahoma Democratic Party. "We’ve had the privilege of working closely with him through the ASDC, where his leadership, collaboration, and vision have been invaluable. His dedication to grassroots organizing and strengthening state parties was evident when he served as a keynote speaker at our 2023 Oklahoma Democratic Convention. Ken is a proven leader, and we’re excited to continue that partnership as he steps into this critical role."
In his acceptance speech, Chair Martin reaffirmed his commitment to holding the Trump administration accountable, uniting Democrats across the nation, and fighting for working families.
“The Democratic Party is the party of working people, and it’s time to roll up our sleeves and outcompete everywhere, in every election, and at every level of government.Today’s elections mark a new chapter in DNC leadership, and Donald Trump and his billionaire allies are put on notice: we will hold them accountable for ripping off working families, and we will beat them at the ballot box.”
Ken Martin brings decades of experience in party leadership, coalition-building, and electoral success. His deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing state parties-especially in places like Oklahoma-positions him to lead with both strategy and heart.
The Oklahoma Democratic Party looks forward to working alongside Chair Martin to strengthen our party, defend democracy, and build a future where every American has the opportunity to thrive.
