The Groton Public Library will host a book discussion for this year’s One Book One Region selection, “What the Eyes Don't See: A Story of Crisis, Resistance, and Hope in an American City” by Mona Hanna-Attisha. Laurie Wolfley, Professor of English at UConn Avery Point, will lead the discussion. Copies of the book are available at the Library; call or reserve online.
One Book One Region Author Visit
Wednesday, September 20, at 7 p.m.
Author Mona Hanna-Attisha will visit the Palmer Auditorium at Connecticut College to discuss her book and related themes with Professor Julia Flagg, Assistant Professor of Sociology and Environmental Studies. One Book One Region: Continuing the Conversation Water Quality
Thursday, September 28, at 7 p.m.
Kevin Booker Jr. will moderate this panel discussion focusing on the themes of this year’s One Book One Region selection, “What the Eyes Don't See: A Story of Crisis, Resistance, and Hope in an American City” by Mona Hanna-Attisha.
Panelists include:
- Dr. Michael Blefeld, retired Groton pediatrician and health department employee
- Rick Stevens, retired supervisor of Groton Utilities Water treatment plant
- Katie Baldwin, Supervisor of Regulated Facilities & Housing at Ledge Light Health District
This program will be held at Groton’s Thrive55+ Active Living Center, located at 102 Newtown Road, and will be recorded for future viewing.
