Opening Exhibitions 

Mission Gráfica: Reflecting a Community in Print 

&

 Centered in Ink: Printmaking in the Inland Empire

Offering a platform for creative expression, these two exhibitions showcase a range of printmaking techniques and styles, sparking conversations about the artists' practices, the themes they explore, and the ways in which their work engages with and impacts the local community. 

Mission Gráfica: Reflecting a Community in Print is a touring exhibition developed in partnership with the San Francisco Public Library, artists from Mission Gráfica, and Exhibit Envoy. It is based on the book of the same name. 

Centered in Ink: Printmaking in the Inland Empire is organized by the Ontario Museum of History & Art and highlights local artists who use printmaking as a platform to showcase their work, allowing them to share their artistic voices with a wider audience. 

Join the Museum on Saturday, January 11, from 2 – 4 PM at the Community Reception for an afternoon of art and printmaking featuring artists in the exhibitions Mission Gráfica: Reflecting a Community in Print and Centered in Ink: Printmaking in the Inland Empire. Light refreshments will be provided.

Studio Saturdays: Pots of Courage

Celebrate the life and work of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and dive into a creative studio experience where you'll explore themes of resilience, courage, and diversity by transforming flowerpots into vibrant canvases with artist, Krafty Sunflower. Celebrate our community's strength and beauty as you paint, and let your flowerpots become a colorful testament to the inspiring legacy of Dr. King. Space is limited. Sign up required.

Studio Saturdays: Celebrating the Year of the Serpent with Artist Flora Kao 

Saturday, January 25
All Ages | 2 PM – 4 PM 

Celebrate the Year of the Serpent with artist Flora Kao as we encounter the vibrant traditions of the Lunar New Year. Join us for an exciting event where you will create your own firecrackers and adorn paper lanterns, setting the stage for a joyful Lunar New Year. Space is limited. Sign up required.

13th Biennial Ontario Open Art Exhibition

Application Deadline – January 31, 2025

The Ontario Museum of History & Art and the Ontario Museum Associates are excited to invite artists from Southern California to participate in the 13th Biennial Ontario Open Art Exhibition. This juried exhibition celebrates contemporary artists working in all mediums, offering a unique opportunity to showcase their creativity and connect with fellow artists. 

Submissions will be accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis now through January 31, 2025. Don’t miss your chance to be a part of this exciting opportunity!

Ontario Art Book Fair

The Ontario Art Book Fair is a one-day unique and regional showcase of artists' books, catalogues, monographs, periodicals, and zines hosted at the Ontario Museum of History & Art. Exhibitors from around the country with an emphasis on California-based artists and publishers will be highlighted. All publishing houses, independent press collectives, artists, zine-makers, printmakers, and individuals practicing in experimental paper formats are welcome and encouraged to apply. The exhibitor application deadline is Thursday, February 13 by 5 PM.
