Live Performance Schedule:
October 26, 2024:
10 AM - 12 PM: Fox and Bones (Americana)
Scott Gilmore and Sarah Vitort are Fox and Bones—energetic offbeat folksters with a retro-tinged, soul-stirring, modern vintage bent. The indomitable duo has brought their optimistic Americana polish to international stages shared with the likes of Rayland Baxter, The Dead South, ZZ Ward, Fantastic Cat and ALO among others. Fox and Bones’ fourth album titled "Long Time Honey” is a collaboration with esteemed songwriter Greg Holden and has received international acclaim for its upbeat and heartfelt songwriting.
Zona Emergente (Mexico) praised the duo, stating, "They manage to make you feel like you can take on the world", while Naga Mag (Greece) lauded, "The much-loved vocals are so familiar and warm that you feel the love overflowing inside you" and Americana Highways (US) beamed Long Time Honey “should rightly be considered one of the best Americana albums of the year”. Their hardworking artistic output has earned them first place at the 2023 Tucson Folk Festival songwriting contest and second place in the International Acoustic Music Awards, amongst other accolades. In between their rigorous tour schedule, the duo founded Portland’s Folk Festival: an annual, three-night celebration of folk and Americana music at the iconic Crystal Ballroom in their hometown of Portland, Oregon.
12:30 PM - 1:30 PM: Tesoro (Flamenco)
Tesoro beautifully and adeptly mixes the diverse styles of puro flamenco, rumba, cumbia, Latin pop and rock along with a perfect measure of funk and blues – all the while incorporating its signature powerful rhythms into infectiously heartfelt, unforgettably passionate, romantically catchy tunes. Tesoro’s songs are richly textured and beautifully complex while remaining completely accessible. The band features Justin Fernandez (Guitar) and Brian Scott (Guitar).
2 PM - 4 PM: Chris Baron & Two Secrets (Folk/Rock)
Chris Baron is a model singer-songwriter with a slew of secrets and a big band sound that really brings the lumber. Gleefully tight and loose with a tractor-beam stage presence, he runs rampant west of the Rockies (+ Texas!) making music that is pleasing to the senses.
October 27, 2024:
10 AM - 12:30 PM: Liz and Pete's Sparrows and the Last Train (Americana)
Liz Cerepanya and Peter Dalton Ronstadt joined musical forces in 2019 to explore material old and new. Liz's heartfelt voice with Pete's haunting harmonies and rich guitar arrangements brought forth a new sound - Liz & Pete’s Sparrows & The Last Train. Whether just the two Sparrows or accompanied by The Last Train, you will find yourself transported into the musical wonderland of the Postmodern American West, highlighted by the roots and americana of Tucson, and the grit and beauty of the Sonoran Desert. Soulful and haunting harmonies along with arrangements which captivate the mind and tug at the heart.
1 PM - 4 PM: Cochise County All-Stars (Country)
The Cochise County All-Stars musical journey began in 2007 as a honky-tonk band playing the jukebox favorites that were popular when Route 66 was Main St. USA. The years and a few natural personnel changes have led to an evolved group of seasoned veterans who perform songs they love... style or genre be damned! A typical CCAS show is a genre-jumping smorgasbord of eclectic music that could feature a Hank Williams tune back-to-back with a Latin rock instrumental followed by a tasteful rock tune from the 1960s. It all seems to work when you have a group of excellent musicians who have coalesced from a variety of backgrounds, both geographically and experientially.
