Provide input on use of funding for community development needs on May 30

The Town annually receives federal Community Development Block Grant funding provided through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development to address certain needs within Castle Rock. The community is invited to provide feedback on the Town’s use of the funding.

CDBG funding – which totals about $255,000 annually – has been used to help support seniors living within Castle Rock and to make accessibility improvements at Town facilities. The grant can be used to revitalize neighborhoods, expand affordable housing, offer economic opportunities and improve community facilities and services.

To gather input on future uses of CDBG funding, a public meeting will be held from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 30, at Town Hall Council Chambers, 100 N. Wilcox St. An option to participate virtually is also available, find more information on the public meeting calendar.

The meeting will inform the development of the Town’s Annual Action Plan for its CDBG funding. The 2023-2024 plan will available for public review from June 16 through July 18. Visit CRgov.com/CDBG to view the plan or pick up a copy in the Town Hall lobby between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. The plan will be on the Town Council agenda on Tuesday, July 18.
