Reciprocal Inspiration and a Cranbury School Legacy: Elizabeth Grimaldi and Elaina Phillips
Elizabeth Grimaldi, retired Cranbury School teacher and administrator will exhibit her original paintings
at the Gourgaud Gallery in Cranbury Twp., N.J. from October 2 - October 30.
Additionally, works by Elaina Philips, her former student, will be on display. A friendship that later transcended the classroom began when Mrs Grimaldi sponsored Ms. Phillips to enter her work in a prestigious, national creative writing contest in 2016. Elaina won, and both were invited to Carnegie Hall to be honored. This exhibit speaks to the reciprocal nature of inspiration in the life of an artist. Their shared passion for painting will be represented in word and image in a show that will also celebrate the beauty of the created world.
Mrs. Grimaldi’s work captures some of her most treasured destinations while traveling the United States. Elaina is currently a freelance artist, studying painting and drawing at Mason Gross School of the Arts. Select original works, and some prints, will be for sale.
The artist will meet with visitors at a reception from 1-3 p.m. on October 6th, 2024. Refreshments and small bites will be available.
As part of a non- profit Cranbury Arts Council, the Gourgaud Gallery donates 20% of art sales to the Cranbury Arts Council and it’s programs that support the Arts in our community. Cash or a check made out to the Artist is accepted as payment.
The gallery is located in Town Hall, 23-A North Main Street in Cranbury, New Jersey and is free and open to the public
Monday –Friday from 9AM-3PM
