From: Stratford Library"Meet-the-Author" Event is Special for "Black History Month"
The Stratford Library will host Redding author Gail Howard for a special "Meet-the-Author" program. Howard will discuss her memoir, White Wife/Blue Baby. The talk, presented as part of the nationwide celebration of "Black History Month", is free and open to the public.
How long does it take a white wife to unlearn racism? How do Black people keep rage from eating into their hearts? Author Gail Howard pursues these questions and more in her new memoir White Wife/Blue Baby. Set within the racial and political turmoil of the time, and reflective of our current national divide, White Wife/Blue Baby intertwines two stories: marrying across the color line in superheated ‘60s Chicago and nurturing a dangerously ill baby girl.
"Meet-the-Author: Gail Howard will be held in the Stratford Library Lovell Room. Autographed copies of Howard’s books will be available for purchase following her talk.
