From Our Nat Family to Yours...

We hope your holidays don't stink!

As we close out the biggest year in our history, we want to thank you for celebrating alongside us all year! Whether you joined the Museum as a member, got a peek at the Paleo Center during our birthday celebrations, or hit the trails with us, we wouldn't be here without your continued support.

We wish you a very Happy Holiday and a Happy New Year!

Up on the Rooftop

Where the views are great, and the tacos are greater!

Looking for something to do with the family during the holiday break? We’re open daily from 10 AM–5 PM (with a few exceptions), and from December 26–31, you can take your visit to the next level—literally. Our rooftop is open December 26–31 for food, drinks, board games, and incredible views of San Diego. Grab tacos from The Craft Taco, enjoy a mimosa (or beer, wine, soft drink), and play some reindeer games with your friends. It's the perfect way to wrap up your holiday fun!

Our hours are as follows:

Tuesday, December 24: 10 AM-3 PM
Wednesday, December 25: Closed
Thursday, December 26: 10 AM-3 PM | Rooftop Open: 12-5 PM
Friday, December 27-30: 10 AM-5 PM | Rooftop Open: 11 AM-5 PM
Tuesday, December 31: 10 AM-3 PM | Rooftop Open: 11 AM-2 PM
Wednesday, January 1: 10 AM-5 PM| Rooftop Open: 11 AM-5 PM

Plan your visit

Tis the Season of Giving.

Show your love of nature with a gift to The Nat.

When you support The Nat, you help nature live large. Here are a few ways you can help nature thrive in our region:

  • Donate. Your support helps advance our work to research and conserve our local biodiversity and helps us educate and inspire others to do the same.
  • Leave a legacy gift. You might not be able to see what our region looks like 100 years from now, but you can still help protect it when you include The Nat in your estate plan or as a beneficiary.
  • Become a member. Early members of the San Diego Society of Natural History were the original tree huggers (in fact, they helped save Torrey Pines!) Join our community and become part of something much bigger.

Love nature. Love The Nat.

150 Years of Loving Nature...

and we're just getting started!

From groundbreaking research to inspiring exhibitions, this year has been one for the books. Thanks to your support, we’ve made incredible strides in exploring and protecting our region’s amazing biodiversity. Read all about it in our 2023-2024 Impact Report.

What a year!
