Applications for Property Tax Exemptions:
The Village of Sea Cliff is now accepting applications for property tax exemptions for the upcoming 2023/2024 tax year. The deadline to submit an application is Monday January 2, 2023.
Senior Citizens
The Village of Sea Cliff offers a Senior Citizens’ Real Property Tax Exemption for persons over the age of 65. This exemption provides reductions of between 5% and 50% on Village taxes only. No exemption is granted to persons with incomes of $37,400 or more. This exemption must be renewed each year.
Persons with Disabilities
Real property located in the Village of Sea Cliff, owned by one or more persons with disabilities and whose income is less than $36,400 by reason of such disability, shall be exempt from a portion of their Village Property taxes. This exemption must be renewed each year.
Veterans
Almost any individual (with few exceptions), that served in active duty with the US Armed Forces, is entitled to a Veterans Real Property Tax Exemption. There is no need to renew this exemption application, if you received it last year then you will automatically receive it this year.
Explanations for these property tax exemptions can be found of the Village website under” TAXES” Applications and instructions are also on the Village website.
Please feel free to call me at Village Hall with any questions or if you require further assistance.

new year at the village green 12:01 a.m. 1/1/23
from Dan Pietro:
Here is a link to a very short YouTube video I completed to commemorate 1,000 stories.
What were the odds - Sea Cliff's Virtual Story Time - necessity is indeed the mother of invention. The COVID lockdown caused Ann DiPietro, Sea Cliff's Children's Librarian, to think out of the box (or at least out of the building).
Posted on YouTube March 18, 2020. Ann says: "We'll be posting a story a day for the next few weeks..." - who knew?!? In retrospect, VST-1 seems primitive: no musical intro & outro, portrait, not landscape, no editing.
Not a day has been missed since that March 18, 2020 posting. Most were recorded in the DiPietro living room but other venues have included SC beach, the front of the Children's Library, Brooklyn & even Martha's Vineyard!
The Long Island Herald newspaper named Barbara Costello, founder of The Guardian Angel Family Store, “Person of the Year”. Thirteen years ago after retiring as an early-intervention therapist Barbara opened the Guardian Angel Family Crisis Center, a nonprofit outreach resource for families in the North Shore conmmunity who are financially struggling & have fallen on hard times. A year later she opened The Guardian Angel Family Store, 239 Glen Cove Avenue in Sea Cliff with donations of women & childrens clothing, toys, car seats & other baby items all donated by North Shore stores & local residents. Her work in our community has touched & changed so many lives.
Barbara modestly says she’s “grateful to be working with the community & for the community”. She’s thankful for all the "Guardian Angels" who donate, shop & volunteer making her mission a success. The Guardian Angel Family Store is open Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays & Saturdays from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. If you’re in the area, please stop in & congratulate Barbara.
It was quite the celebration at the Senior Lunch. We celebrated the holiday season with an ugly sweater contest. Congratulations to the winner, Marge Dodge! Our little elves, Jody, Terry, Charlotte & Nick did a spectacular job decorating the room & even set up a photo booth!
Scrumptious home-made cupcakes made by Heidi Beck topped off the day.

Mutual Concerns Committee:
Many don't realize there are people in our community who go without proper food every day due to a variety of factors including low wages, job loss, injuries, illness, age, or divorce. While all of us are susceptible to hard times, children & the elderly are most at risk & they make up the largest number of people we serve.
In times like this, it's comforting to know that we live in such a giving community. The outpouring of support has been overwhelming. If you have ever donated food, made a financial donation of any kind, or volunteered your time, we thank you. It may seem like a small act to you, but to someone else it can make a huge difference.
If anyone would like to donate food, call Peggie Como at 516-675-7239.
If you would like to make a financial donation, make checks payable to Mutual Concerns Committee & send it to PO Box 164, Sea Cliff, NY 11579
