State Senator Karl Allen (D-Greenville) on Feb 13th, celebrated the announcement that Isuzu North America Corporation has chosen Greenville County as the site of its new U.S. production base. The company’s $280 million investment will create more than 700 new jobs, further strengthening the region’s economy and workforce opportunities.
“This is a tremendous win for Greenville County and South Carolina as a whole,” said Senator Karl Allen. “Isuzu’s decision to invest here underscores the strength of our workforce, our business-friendly environment, and our commitment to economic growth.”
The 1-million-square-foot facility, located on over 200 acres on Augusta Road, will be transformed into a cutting-edge assembly plant, expanding Isuzu’s vehicle supply capabilities for North America. The facility will produce both internal combustion engine and electric vehicles, ensuring Greenville remains at the forefront of automotive innovation.
“With this investment, we are not only creating jobs but also positioning Greenville as a leader in advanced vehicle manufacturing,” Senator Allen added. “This project will provide hardworking South Carolinians with new opportunities and help drive long-term economic prosperity in our community.”
Operations at the new facility are expected to begin in 2027. More details regarding job opportunities and application processes will be shared in the coming months.
The Coordinating Council for Economic Development has approved job development credits to support the project, reinforcing the state’s commitment to fostering business expansion and workforce development.
