R.E.C.E.S.S. July 31st through August 10th
The Summer R.E.C.E.S.S. (reading everyday can ensure student success) Reading Program for grades K-4 is back this summer! During this free class, the teacher will read and discuss the recommended reading book with the children and then work on a craft.

Tech Tear Down Tuesday, August 1st at 3 p.m.
Ever wondered what is inside different electronics? Now's your chance to open them up and see what's inside! No registration necessary, for ages 5+ with constant adult supervision.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Party Thursday, August 3rd at 3:00 p.m.
Drop-by and celebrate TMNT with games, crafts, and activities! Geared for ages 3+.
National Underwear Day Crafternoon Saturday, August 5th at 1:00 p.m.
Drop by and craft! For kids of all ages. Adult supervision is required.
Family Disney Trivia Monday, August 7th at 6 p.m.
Do you love everything Disney?! Make your team and head to the library for the most magical trivia of the year! You'll get free pizza too! Registration is required. All ages welcome. Location: MEETING ROOM A/B

Buzzz... the Bee is Here - Spelling Bee for Kids Monday, August 14th at 6 p.m.
The Library's Spelling Bee is for kids entering grades 3 & 4. Participants would be picked through a lottery system. If your child gets in, you will be contacted by August 7th. If you are interested, please send the following information to [email protected] starting July 31st: Child's Name and Grade and Parent's name, email and phone number. Location: MEETING ROOM A/B
Kids' Talent Show Wednesday, August 16th at 6 p.m.
Does your child have a special talent that they’d love to share with a crowd?! Do they sing, dance, write poetry, tell jokes? Sign them up for a spot in our talent show! (Registration required). Location: MEETING ROOM A/B
Guidelines for performers: Performances must be kept to under 4 minutes. There will only be 1 minute of time between performers, so set up should be minimal for each performance.

Pop Stars and Popsicles - End of Summer Party! Thursday, August 24th at 3 p.m.
You did it! Now...join the children's librarians to celebrate the end of the Summer Reading Program with popsicles and karaoke fun! While supplies last. This is an all ages family program. Location: MEETING ROOM A/B
Reading Challenges
Children's Summer Reading 2023 - Find Your Voice! starts Monday, June 26th. Kids ages 3 to 10 are encouraged to log the minutes they read this summer for a chance to earn cool online badges and specially themed weekly prizes! Reading is tracked online. In-person logging will be available as well.

This month's StoryWalk at Lake Street Park is It Began with Lemonade by Gideon Sterer. This wonderful community book was done in partnership with Shrewsbury Parks & Recreation and the Friends of the Library.
