Supporting Your LGBTQ+ Child Thursday, May 11th at 7 p.m.
As a parent or caregiver of a tween or teen, you want to support your child as they grow up and figure themselves out. Some things are easy to navigate, like their favorite foods, passions, or possible career paths. Other things might be trickier.
Sometimes, when it comes to a young person’s sexuality and gender, it’s hard to know what to do and what to say to show you care. Maybe your child has already come out as LGBTQ+, or maybe you want to be better prepared in case they do in the future. Either way, this is a great place to start!
We’ll talk about the basic terms and meanings for LGBTQ+ youth, as well as answer your questions about being an affirming and caring caregiver for your child. Resources and information will be available to take home.
