Tony M. Bingham

Artist Lecture and Reception

Thu., Feb. 13 - 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Lecture begins at 5:45 pm in The Library Theatre, with the reception to follow. Wine and hors d’oeuvres will be served. This event is free and open to the public.

Multi-disciplinary artist Tony M. Bingham lives and works in Birmingham, AL. Through his found and original audio work, large-scale photography and sculpture, Bingham references various sites which offer opportunities to consider African-American lifeways and ways of memorializing. Bingham received a BA in Communications from Antioch College, an MA in Film and Community Media from Goddard College and an MFA from Georgia State University. In 2024, he was awarded the Southern Prize and Alabama Fellowship for Visual Arts from South Arts. Bingham taught humanities and studio art at Miles College in Fairfield, Alabama from 2006-2024.

The McCrary Sisters

Wed., & Thu., Feb. 19 & 20 - 7 PM

The McCrary Sisters, daughters of the late Reverend Samuel McCrary, a founding member of the legendary Gospel quartet The Fairfield Four, sing gospel that melds traditional with contemporary influences of classic soul, Americana, blues, rock and R&B music. Since forming their own group in 2011 and  releasing their recording of “Amazing Grace” in 2021, The McCrary Sisters, dubbed “Nashville music royalty” by NPR, continue to share their family legacy which has included performances with artists such as Bob Dylan, Elvis, Isaac Hayes, Stevie Wonder, The Black Keys, Martina McBride, Carrie Underwood and many more.

An Evening with Julia Quinn

Fri., Feb. 21 - 7 PM

With nearly 40 books, Julia Quinn is a beloved voice in historical romance. Her Bridgerton series inspired Netflix’s hit Bridgerton and Queen Charlotte. Quinn, also an executive producer with a cameo in the spin-off, co-authored Queen Charlotte: Before the Bridgertons Came the Love Story with Shonda Rhimes. A Harvard graduate, she combines humor with a passion for literacy and philanthropy, living in the Pacific Northwest with her family.
