There will be so much happening during this Friday’s Holi-Themed Open Studios!

Most of our visual artist studios will be open, and the performance schedule is listed below.

7:10 pm - Book Reading by Linda Litteral (indoors)

7:30 pm - Indian Classical Fusion Dances by Kerani Performing Arts (outdoors)

8:00 pm - Musical Performances by Ariana and Chris Warren, Ciel Bracher (indoors)

8:30 pm - Musical Performance by Nick Lesley and Jonathan Piper (outdoors)

9:00 pm - Drum Circle facilitated by Felix Diaz (outdoors)

Traditional Holi celebrations include throwing colors on people to spread happiness and love, so we will use colored powder to lightly color anyone who wants to participate.

This event will happen rain or shine since the performances can be moved indoors as needed. Weather permitting, fire pits will be set up outside to help guests stay cozy.

Bring credit, cash, or use Venmo to sample some Indian samosas and ladoos. Please RSVP so we have enough snacks and drinks on hand. We’re looking forward to a colorful evening together!

Location

Our address is 340 16th Street. The entrance to Space 4 Art is located on 16th St, near J St, directly across from Goodwill. A staff member will be posted at the gate to let you in. Rideshare or public transportation is encouraged—our closest bus stop is located at Market & 16th (Routes 3,5).

Parking

We cannot offer parking onsite; however, there are street parking and several paid parking options nearby: https://www.eastvillagesandiego.com/parking-transit

After parking, you can call FRED (the free downtown shuttle!) to order free ride to Space 4 Art: https://www.ridecircuit.com/fred—Download the app and create an account before requesting your first ride!

Accessibility

Our warehouse studios are wheelchair accessible via our 16th Street entrance. Our live/work area can only be accessed via a flight of stairs. Please call the office if you need assistance.

Music Performance: The Possibility of Something Happening

In conjunction with Space 4 Art’s exhibition,The Possibility of Something Happening, join us for special musical performances by Amy Cimini, Go By Land (Michelle Lou + Jonathan Piper), and Judith Hamann.

Entry: Suggested donation of $5-20 at door (goes directly to the performers).

Drinks and Appetizers: Available for purchase at Botanica Art & Cocktail Bar, a partner-business with Art Produce at the same location. Proceeds from these sales will be donated to Art Produce Gallery.
