The Museum has some new signage this month! We are thrilled with the look, and know this will add a presence to the public. The signage faces west, on 9th street, and as you can see, the colors "pop"!
We hope you like it too!!!
It is Match Madness time. The Greater Salina Community Foundation will kick off the fundraiser on March 13th. MARK YOUR CALENDAR!! Kent will be on hand at the SJMS Museum booth to answer questions and give handouts to interested individuals. It's a full day of fundraising, with your dollars going towards the Museum. Last year approximately $1500 was raised.... and we thank those that contributed. Here's the challenge LET'S BEAT THAT NUMBER!!!!

In Memoriam
It is with great sadness we share the passing of Dana R. Tretheway, Old Boy 1974. Dana passed away March 2 after battling pneumonia and congestive heart failure. Dana is survived by his wife, Glenny and brother Kent, Old Boy 1971. Services are pending.
From Roy Knight, OB 1974, Dana was a classmate at SJMS. He and I served on the Battalion Staff our senior year and he was a close friend while I was there. He went on to a career in the USAF and I peddled cookies. We came back together only long after his retirement and on the occasion of the final commencement of our beloved St. John's.
Dana was there when we laid my father to rest in Texas in 2019 honoring him and showing tremendous friendship by being there.
Dana and I shared something that is no longer possible. We graduated together from a remarkable institution that now only exists in the hearts of the Old Boy who remain and the beautiful museum dedicated to it's legacy.
All of us have those relationships built at the most formative times of our lives. We may not see one another for decades, but we will always have that common bond of experience and love that will never leave. Dana will always be a part of who I am today, as I know I was a part of him. Blue skies, Brother.
We also lost a former SJMS employee, Stella Louis Adkins. She was the mother of SJMS Mike Reid.
Her obituary
We extend our deepest sympathy to all friends of family.
