Calling All Dog Lovers! Bark In The Park Is A New Twist On An Old Favorite Sun Festival Event For Dogs And Their Humans. This Years Theme Is"It’s A Paw-Ty". Awards Will Include Cutest Costume, Most Creative Costume, Best Theme Costume, Best Handler/Pet Duo And Best Overall. We Will Also Include A Talent Competition And Have A Best Talent Award. Also Included In The Evening Will Be Demonstrations, A Photo Booth And Dog-Friendly Vendors. Bring Out The Family And Your Furry Friends To This Community-Wide Event.

Listen for the early morning riddle first at 6 am and then again at 7 am on The Front Porch/Kowaliga Country 97.5. The clues will be shared on the Sun Festival, Alexander City Chamber of Commerce and Alexander City Outlook Facebook pages at 6 am. When solved, the riddle will lead you to an official Sun Festival Alexander City medallion worth $200. The medallion will be hidden within the Alexander City city limits. If the medallion has not been found by 3 pm, an additional clue will be given through all media outlets listed above. Should the medallion not be found on any given day, it will roll to the next day with a new medallion riddle for that day’s treasure as well. In this scenario, more than one medallion is in play. When you find the medallion, call Kowaliga Country 97.5 at 256-234-6221 and then take the medallion to the Alexander City Outlook to collect your prize and have your picture made.

Water, water everywhere! Bring the kiddos and join us at the Splashplex located at the Charles E. Bailey Sportplex for an afternoon of splish, splashing fun. We will also have an inflatable water slide to add to the excitement. Be prepared to get wet and enjoy a delicious treat from Kona Ice.

5:30 PM - 9:00 PM - Sun Festival Hittin' the Links at Lakewinds Golf Course

This unique tournament will begin with standard golf on the first nine holes. Then we’ll break for dinner before continuing with glow-in-the-dark golf for the final nine holes after the sun sets. The cost is only $45 per person and includes tournament entry, cart, dinner and glow-in-the-dark supplies. The format for scoring is a 4-person scramble. Space is limited, so be sure to call or stop by the Alexander City Chamber to get registered early.

Express your creativity with a paint brush in one hand and a cocktail in the other! We’ll provide the pre-drawn canvas, paints and treats. You provide your beverage of choice. The cost to participate is $35 per person.
