Summer in the City features family-friendly events held throughout the summer at Irvine parks.
IRVINE, Calif. (June 21, 2023): The City of Irvine is launching a new summer event series, Summer in the City. This exciting series will feature a variety of family-favorite activities, including Movies on the Lawn, Sizzlin' Summer Concerts, and a Summer Dance Party featuring a DJ and live music. Summer in the City will run every Saturday from June 24 to August 19, with the exception of July 1.
Movies on the Lawn:
The community is invited to the Great Park Terraced Lawn for an outdoor family movie night on the big screen. Bring low-back chairs, blankets and a picnic, or purchase tasty treats from gourmet food trucks and a snack bar. Guests can arrive early with food trucks available beginning at 6:30 p.m. Movies begin after sunset and are weather permitting.

Sizzlin’ Summer Concerts:
Enjoy family-friendly concerts at Mike Ward Community Park — Woodbridge covering a variety of musical tastes from country rock and dance hits to classic soul and orchestra music. Concerts begin at 5:30 p.m. Guests can bring picnic-style treats or purchase snacks from gourmet food trucks.

Summer Dance Party:
The Summer Dance Party is a new event addition to the Summer in the City series. This family-friendly party, held at the Great Park, is designed for guests of all ages. It will be a throwback to 80s favorites with DJ and live music. Food trucks will be available on-site to purchase snacks and drinks.
August 12 — 80s DJ & Live Band: Neon Nation
All Summer in the City events are free (no tickets or pre-registration required). Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis. Guests should bring low-back chairs and blankets; layered clothing is recommended.
The Great Park Terraced Lawn and Hangar 244 are located at 8000 Great Park Blvd., in Irvine. Mike Ward Community Park — Woodbridge is located at 20 Lake Road, Irvine.
