Steven Spielberg, The Creative Coalition with Tim Daly and Robin Bronk, Beth Tate, and Dow Griffith to Receive Special Honors

WHAT:             

The 10TH ANNUAL LOCATION MANAGERS GUILD INTERNATIONAL (LMGI) AWARDS, honoring the creative use of filming locations that set the tone, enrich the character and enhance the narrative, will be presented in the following categories: Contemporary Film, Period Film, Contemporary TV, Period TV, Commercials and Film Commissions. Honorary Awards include the Humanitarian, Lifetime Achievement and the Eva Monley Award. The full list of nominees can be viewed here: locationmanagers.org.

Steven Spielberg, the master storyteller and legendary pioneer of the modern blockbuster motion picture, will receive the prestigious Eva Monley Award virtually, presented by longtime Spielberg collaborator and Oscar-winning Production Designer Rick Carter (Jurassic Park, Lincoln, The Fablemans). (Note: Mr. Spielberg will be accepting remotely).

The Creative Coalition will be bestowed with the Humanitarian Award, recognizing the organization’s commitment to using Arts and Entertainment to advocate for social change and using its diverse membership from all facets of the entertainment industry to make a difference in the world, presented by Cheryl Hines (“Curb Your Enthusiasm,” "The Flight Attendant”), and Steven Weber (“Chicago Med," "13 Reasons Why”). Accepting on behalf of The Creative Coalition will be CEO Robin Bronk and President Tim Daly.

Additional honorees include Location Manager Dow Griffith (Lifetime Achievement Award) to be presented by Academy Award winning director Taylor Hackford and the LMGI co-founding member Beth Tate (Trailblazer Award) presented by Location Managers JJ Levine and Diane Friedman.

Additional presenters included Jaclyn Philpott (AFCI Executive Director), Academy Award-nominated Production Designer Stefan Dechant (The Tragedy of Macbeth, Kong: Skull Island, Pacific Rim: Uprising), Academy Award- nominated Production Designer Jeannine Oppewall (L.A. Confidential, Catch Me if You Can, Seabiscuit), Director and Cinematographer Patrick Cady (“Interrogation,” “Bosch”), and Director Hanelle M. Culpepper (“Star Trek: Discovery,” “Big Sky,” True Story”).
