From: The Maritime AquariumHello World!
We’re thrilled to announce the newest member of our Aquarium family – Sono, a male harbor seal pup. Both he and mom, Gracie, are doing extremely well!
At birth, Sono weighed 18 pounds, 2 ounces, and measured 30 inches in length. His name was inspired by the neighborhood of South Norwalk, where we are located and have played a significant role in revitalizing.
Gracie will be slowly introducing Sono to his new, larger home in Pinniped Cove in the coming weeks.
Summer Camp Sessions are Filling Up ... Reserve Your Spot
Dive in and explore the fantastic ocean of wonder at our summer camp. Our summer program integrates science with art and literature to deepen children’s understanding of animals and the environment. Here are just two of the many programs we have to offer:
Amazing Animal Architects | Ages 6 - 8 | July 17 - 21
Ever wonder how a beaver builds its dam, or how a robin makes a nest? In our newest offering, campers will put on their engineering hats and explore the amazing ways animals can change the habitat around them. From burrowing owls to meerkats, they’ll learn how our animals at the Aquarium and their counterparts in the wild dig, build, use tools, and more.
Fin-Fluencers | Ages 9 - 12 | July 24 - August 4
Calling all aspiring social media influencers! Animals like seals and sharks need our help. Campers will gain a deeper understanding of conservation through hands-on activities and will use their voice to communicate what they’ve learned by writing, filming, and editing their own videos.
