This summer has been a vibrant celebration of music and culture at the New Orleans Jazz Museum, where we hosted three spectacular events: NOLA River FestGallatin Street Fest, and International Jazz Day Fest. Each festival brought together music lovers, history enthusiasts, and the local community to revel in the rich heritage of New Orleans. From the lively performances that echoed through our historic halls to the engaging cultural activities and exhibits, these events not only honored the legacy of jazz but also highlighted the unique spirit of our city.

There is still so much to look forward to. Mark your calendars!

"It All Started in Jane Alley: Louis Armstrong in New Orleans" exhibit opening August 1st:

Louis Armstrong, synonymous with New Orleans, learned invaluable life lessons during his years here - about music, people, racism, food, and life. When he left in 1922 to conquer the world, he carried New Orleans' values with him, always reflecting on his beloved hometown.

“It All Started in Jane Alley: Louis Armstrong in New Orleans” explores Armstrong’s formative years in New Orleans and his return visits. Through photos, artifacts, and writings, the exhibit showcases how New Orleans shaped Armstrong. Highlights include the cornet he played at the Colored Waifs’ Home. This exhibit complements “From Congo Square to the World: Early Jazz In New Orleans.”
