Thanksgiving is now behind us and December arrives later this week. The holidays are here! In the spirit of Thanksgiving, we are grateful for your patronage and your support, now and throughout the year. Below you will find a couple ways to support the Jones Library this season, as well as items highlighting our upcoming programs and other news of interest. Giving Tuesday
Tuesday, November 29
Intentionally scheduled to come after the shopping days of Black Friday and Cyber Monday, Giving Tuesday is a day to give back - a day of online giving. As you plan your charitable gifts for Giving Tuesday, don't forget to add the the Friends of the Jones Libraries to the list of organizations you are supporting on this special day of giving. Supporting the Friends helps continue to bring robust library programs, services, and materials to our Amherst libraries. Just follow this link to make your donation online on Tuesday. Teen Lounge
Friday, December 2 from 3:30 - 5:00 pm
Stop by the Woodbury Room after school on Fridays for Teen Lounge! Come play our new NES Switch on the big screen. There will also be some crafts, board games, and good times. Come hang out with friends or make some new ones! No reservation required. This program is for ages 11 to 17.
Creativebug® Art Afternoon
Saturday, December 3 from 3:00 - 4:00 pm
Create painted paper to wrap gifts for any occasion. Learn several quick and easy dry-brush techniques, from sophisticated crosshatch designs to loose geometric squiggles – no prior painting experience required. Recommended for ages 16 and up. All materials are provided. Space is limited. To register, please visit the reference desk or call 413-259-3096.

Kids Chess Club
Saturday, December 3 from 3:30 - 5:00 pm
Join Andy Morris-Friedman to learn the basics of chess and advance to other exciting strategies of the game! We will meet on the first Saturday of the month, October through March. This program is for children ages 9 and up.

Words Together: A Poetry Workshop
Saturday, December 3 from 4:00 - 5:00 pm
Students from the Amherst College Poetry Club lead a poetry workshop for teens. This is part of an ongoing series. Please email us for more information and to register.
This program is for ages 12 - 17.
Jones Book of the Month Club
Would you like to have two surprises on the hold shelf each month? Adults can sign up and have two books placed on hold for you monthly, based on your reading preferences. (Or get told about two great titles available immediately for downloading on Libby.) Our members say that they enjoy the surprise of picking up their holds and are reading more than ever. Learn more and sign up!
Graphic Novel Book Club
Join us on Thursday, December 8, from 4:00 - 5:00 pm to discuss Beetle & the Hollowbones by Aliza Layne. We'll also do a fun craft related to the themes of the book! This program is for ages 9 - 12.

Join us on Tuesday, December 6 at 7:00 pm as our Hit the Trail! Adventures in Hiking series continues. Our adventures take us farther afield as veteran pilgrim Joe Curro describes the history and experience of walking the Camino de Santiago, a collection of ancient pilgrim trails in Europe, all of which converge at the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela, Spain.
