Big Wash Trailhead -- Closure Notice: The Big Wash Trailhead and RC Flyer area will be closed October 27 - December 5 to complete the bank protection work for this project. The new bank protection connects to the existing bank protection at the bridge, which will cut off the access to the trailhead. There will be a deep trench, heavy equipment and trucks operating, so the trailhead will need to close to keep the public safe. Thank you for patience as the Town makes these necessary improvements.

Community Invited To Participate In The Master Planning Process For Vistoso Trails Nature Preserve
The Town of Oro Valley invites the community to participate in the master planning process for the Vistoso Trails Nature Preserve (formerly known as the Vistoso Golf Course). Input received from the community will be used to develop the Master Plan, which will be the framework for future site improvements, land-use management and visitor experience. The effort is being led by Sites Southwest, a landscape architecture and planning firm.
A project kick-off meeting with Town staff and Sites Southwest was held in September to plan community engagement opportunities and develop a project timeline.

Oro Valley Aquatic Center Updates

- The Oro Valley Aquatic Center will be closed December 5, 2022, through the end of January 2023, for improvements to the pump room circulation and filtration systems. Existing pool filters have reached the end of their useful life and will be removed and replaced with modern, deep bed filters. These new filters will be filled with an advanced glass media that will allow for a more fine filtration to maintain and improve on the high standard of water quality you have come to enjoy. The Aquatic Center’s pump room plumbing will also be replaced and redesigned to fit the new layout these filters. To accommodate for the size and increased quantity of these new filters, the pump room building itself will be expanded to the east. This newly expanded area will be enclosed and will not cause any loss of deck space for the public. In addition to improved circulation and filtration, the Aquatic Center will be receiving a new pool heater for the Recreation Pool. This new heater is a high efficiency unit and will be consistent with the Olympic Pool models, bringing all the facility’s pool heaters up to modern standards. Thank you for your patience while we work to maintain and improve the user experience at our facilities. For more information, please call 520-297-7946 or visit orovalleyaz.gov and search for AQUATIC CENTER IMPROVEMENTS.
