Now & Forever  WiFi Hotspots Now Available to Check-Out!

Now available to borrow at our Headquarters branch - Thomasville - are brand-new WiFi hotspots.  Most modern smartphones have a hotspot mode, but cellular modems and Wi-Fi hotspots have historically been your best and most flexible option if you have a lot of devices that need web access.

Hotspots can connect more than just laptops to the web. They also work with a tablet, a camera, and pretty much any other Wi-Fi-enabled device. They support more devices at one time than your phone's hotspot mode, don't drain your phone's battery, and can hook up with the better antennas from your phone.

Our new Wi-Fi hotspots have a loan period of two (2) week and are available to those 18 years or older (unless a parent or guardian is present to authorize the check-out).  Hotspot loans are available only to Thomas County residents, proof of which is needed if not reflected on your PINES account.  Hotspots are not renewable, but another may be checked out if available when the first is returned.

New, interactive technology will be soon added to the Department.  Stay tuned!

I think the Millennial and Gen X generations get a lot of heat from previous generations in the ways they choose to live (or not live) and engage with the world....
