Summer Reading Registration

We’re All Together Now for our Summer Reading Program (SRP) at the Tifton-Tift County Public Library! Register from the comfort of your own home with this online form but don’t forget to come by TTCPL for your official SRP bag, reading log, event calendar, and more! Summer Reading runs through July 27th.

Bowling Bonanza

Bring the family to Tift Co. Lanes for a day of bowling on Thursday, July 20th from 2–4 PM, our treat! Shoes and one game are free and concessions and tokens will be available for purchase.

Where the Wild Books Are

Get wild with our elementary book club, Where the Wild Books Are, on Tuesday, July 18th at 5 PM! Explore the world of Belly Up’s main protagonist, Teddy Fitzroy, and solve the mystery of what happened to FunJungle Theme Park’s beloved mascot, Henry the Hippo. Is the verdict natural causes or foul play? With plenty of suspicious suspects, you’ll have to stay sharp to monkey your way out of trouble.

Paint Pouring

Paint pouring is a way to paint with the outcome being unpredictable, but that’s what makes it fun! Teens, prepare for your hands to get messy on Tuesday, June 18th at 4 PM.

Art Club

We’re painting the town this summer at our All Ages Art Club on Mondays at 10 AM. Participants are encouraged to dress for a mess!

Games from Scratch

The final Games from Scratch meeting will be Thursday, July 20th at 4 PM. Come put those finishing touches on your game! Don’t be afraid to come if it’s your first time this summer, as level design is easy to pick up!

Roblox

Do you like to play Roblox? So do we! Join us Wednesday, July 19th from 3–4 PM and we can all play together!

Bouncing Bees

Bounce and play with baby and friends at this free-flowing baby lapsit program! Join us on Tuesday, July 18th at 10 AM for short stories, songs, rhymes, and more for babies 0-18 months and their caregivers.

Urban Yoga

There’s no Cats on Mats program this summer, but that doesn’t mean there’s no yoga! Join the library for some urban yoga in Downtown Tifton at Veterans Memorial Park on Wednesday, July 19th at 7:30 PM.

Robotics

The summer Robotics program has only two weeks left, and we’re on to the fun stuff! The next two meetings will be focused on robotic boats, and yes, we’ll have water for them to paddle around! Robotics meets at 4 PM on Mondays, and we’ll be in the smaller multipurpose room due to the involvement of large amounts of water.

This program is designed for kids 8 years old and up.

Sewing Friends-y

Sewing Friends-y, the youth (ages 12 to 17) sewing group, will meet at 4 PM on Wednesday, July 19th. We’ll be working on our denim cross body bag. We hope participants will be able to come and stitch up a storm! (So long as it’s not a real storm and the power doesn’t go out!)

Coffee & a Book

This month join us for a “Book Tasting.” There will be a selection of books on display to peruse while enjoying your coffee or tea. Come sample something new or try an oldie but goodie. Books, coffee and conversation is a great way to start your day at our new book club for adults. Hope to see you on July 20th from 10–11 AM.

Anime Club

The teen Anime Club will meet at 5 PM on Thursday, July 20th to watch some anime!

Reading Rascals

Enjoy stories, songs, and crafts at our weekly community storytime on Thursdays at 10 AM. It should be no surprise that Reading Rascals will be meeting all summer! For ages 0–5 with a caregiver.

Financial Literacy Initiative

Tifton’s Financial Literacy Initiative “strives to better equip a population to make good decisions on credit and better position assets and resources that are effective and productive, resulting in significant personal, household-level, small business and community-wide impact.” The Initiative will be holding events throughout the year.

The next event will be Put Your Debt on a Diet, presented by Michael Bowen, Commercial Real Estate Broker and Keller Williams Lecturer at the Stafford School of Business at ABAC, on Tuesday, July 18th 5:30–7:00 PM at the Leroy Rogers Senior Center in Tifton. Attendees will be entered in a prize drawing at the end of the workshop and the library will be there to provide a storytime for kids, too! Register for the event online..

If you have questions, call (229) 391-3868 or email [email protected].
