On Friday, Dec. 2, the Chief of Police and Mayor Justin Brooks invited the Sheriffs and District Attorneys from both Boulder and Weld counties to discuss trends in crime and creative and proactive ways of prevention. Other Town leadership including Town Administrator Malcolm Fleming, Deputy Town Administrator Melissa Wiley, Deputy Chief Lee Mathis, and Commander Mike Haefele were also in attendance for this important discussion. You can read more about crime statistics in Erie (and across the State) online and look out in the coming weeks for the Erie Police Department’s Annual Report.
Safely Disposing of Hazardous Materials
If you’ve been doing some winter cleaning – you know, making room in the garage to store your new toolbox, skis, or just decluttering—did you know that the Boulder County Hazardous Materials Management Facility (HMMF) located at 1901 63rd Street in Boulder accepts old paint, fertilizers, aerosols motor oil, batteries, bleach, household cleaners, and a whole lot more? And now they are no longer requiring appointments for drop-off! All Erie residents and businesses can use this facility and it even has a FREE Reuse Area to grab some extra supplies for projects instead of buying new materials.
A complete list of what is and isn’t accepted at the HMMF is available at www.BoCo.org/HMMF. Questions can also be sent to [email protected] or call 720-564-2251.

-Utility Work on County Line Road – Utility construction work as part of the Four Corners development at Town Center will require lane closures around County Line Road and Erie Parkway. This closure will affect southbound and northbound traffic on County Line Road, just south of Erie Parkway beginning Dec. 5 through Dec. 15 (day and night).
Southbound traffic will be shifted to the east along County Line Road. Road work will not affect Austin Ave., but Aspen Ridge has been made aware of the coming work and will alert parents to help mitigate blockage during morning and afternoon school pick-up and drop-off windows.
