Mark Your Calendar: Spring Clean-Up Event Scheduled

Feeling ready for spring to roll around? You aren’t alone! Our staff has already been answering calls about the annual Spring Clean-Up event. This year’s free drop-off event at the landfill will be held May 8-13 with the special item drop-off on May 13 at the Leon’ A. Wurl Service Center. Landfill drop-off no longer requires a voucher – just proof of residency in the form of a utility bill (with your name that matches an ID) or just your ID card with an Erie address printed on it.

The event on May 13 will include the regular metal, electronics, and yard waste collection as always and NEW this year is the addition of household hazardous waste collection, bike tube/tire recycling, and mattress disposal (for a small fee). See the Clean-Up Events webpage for all accepted items.

2022 Post-Election Data Report and Voter Turnout Map

The Boulder County Elections Division released the 2022 Post-Election Data Report and the 2022 General Election Turnout Map. The 2022 Post-Election Data Report is an infographic report that highlights voter registration statistics, voter turnout, voting method, and more. The interactive 2022 General Election Voter Turnout Map allows you to explore how many voters voted in each precinct in Boulder County. Did you know 76.5% of eligible Erie voters (in Boulder County) voted in 2022? And that 95.5% of all Boulder County voters used the mail-in ballots? Voters in Weld County can review results from 2022 as well.

Cone Zones

Each week we list the projects that may have the biggest impact on traffic flow for that week. As always, please sign up for alerts to get more details about these projects and many others. More information and details for how to sign up are at www.erieco.gov/ConeZone

-Traffic Lights at WCR 7 & Erie Parkway – The newly installed traffic lights at the intersection of WCR 7 and Erie Parkway will be illuminated on March 7 or 8 – depending on weather. The current static 4-way stop signs will continue to flash red for 1 - 2 days after the traffic lights are activated to encourage more caution with the new transition. Stop signs will then be removed during low-traffic periods by the Town.

Road work is weather-dependent, and timelines may shift. Motorists, cyclists, and pedestrians should always be aware and use caution when in and around work zones. Whenever possible, please avoid the construction areas.
