From: Town of JupiterBrightline Conducting High Speed Testing Through Jupiter
In preparation to begin service from West Palm Beach to Orlando, Brightline began high speed testing, with speeds reaching up to 110 miles per hour, in northern Palm Beach County today, Friday, February 17. The testing will continue through the end of the month.
The testing will occur daily from 7:00 am until 7:00 pm in Jupiter, Palm Beach Gardens, North Palm Beach, Lake Park, Riviera Beach and West Palm Beach. Flaggers will be present at railroad crossings when there is active testing taking place in the area and there will be an increased law enforcement presence around railroad crossings. In Jupiter, the Frederick Small Road and Donald Ross Road railroad crossings will have flaggers present.
Brightline has made safety improvements at all crossings within Jupiter. However, motorists, bicyclists and pedestrians are encouraged to take caution at all railway crossings and along the tracks. Rail traffic will run in both directions on both tracks during the testing.
