From: Town of MonroeChristmas Tree Pickup
The Highway Division of our Public Works Department will collect Christmas trees from January 13-27, 2003. No appointment is needed; simply leave your tree at the curb. Trees must have decorations removed and should not be bagged. Trees may also be brought to the Garder Road Landfill on Fridays or Saturdays from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

State DOT Traffic Signal Improvements
The Connecticut Department of Transportation has notified the Town that a state contractor has been authorized to begin Traffic Signal Safety & Technology Enhancements work in our region. The project involves removing the nighttime flashing operation, installation of vehicle detection, and replacing traffic controllers at the following three intersections in Monroe:
-Route 25 (Main Street) at Pepper Street and Corporate Drive
-Route 25 (Main Street) at Victoria Drive
-Route 111 (Monroe Turnpike) at Stop & Shop and Reda Center
Holiday Schedule
The Monroe Town Hall Offices, Library, Highway Department, Senior Center and Food Pantry will be closed on Monday, January 16, 2023 in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
Normal hours will resume on Tuesday, January 17, 2023. Recycling will be picked up on Monday as usual. The Spring Hill Road Transfer Station and Garder Road Landfill will be open on Saturday, January 14, 2023.
