VISTOSO TRAILS NATURE PRESERVE OPEN HOUSE

The open house, which will be held in the newly restored Garage at Steam Pump Ranch (10901 N. Oracle Road) from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., will allow community members to drop in at their convenience to review the data gathered from previous public engagement meetings, provide feedback and learn about the Master Planning process.

In November 2022, the Vistoso Trails Nature Preserve Master Plan consultant team, Sites Southwest came to Oro Valley to conduct site observations and meet with stakeholders and the community. Those who cannot attend the Jan. 25 open house, can review the report and email comments to project manager, Liz Cole at [email protected].  To follow along with the Master Planning process and view schedules, timelines and completed documents, visit orovalleyaz.gov and search VISTOSO TRAILS NATURE PRESERVE or click here.

Pickleball Programming

  • The next season of leagues is now open! The women's league starts this Tuesday and has limited spots available so hurry! Click here to view and register.
  • Update to Tuesday Open Play Schedule: Due to the immense interest and popularity of the league play offered on Tuesdays mornings the decision has been made that beginning January 17, open play will no longer be available in the mornings on Tuesdays. While we understand that this is not ideal for those that attend open play, the interest and popularity of the league is in large part due to the time of day and league play during this time period outweighs open play usage. By utilizing all available courts it will also allow the league to run more efficiently and thus will be done by 11:30 a.m. allowing all courts to open an hour earlier than previously. Open play will remain available six days per week. Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturdays from 6 a.m. - 11 a.m. We understand that open play has significant value in the world of pickleball and do not anticipate any additional changes to this schedule, with the exception of periodic special events. Additionally, open play will be available on Tuesdays from 4-8 p.m. on courts 1-6.
    • Pickleball Open Play Schedule: Monday: 6 – 11 a.m. | Tuesday: 4 – 8 p.m. | Wednesday: 6 – 11 a.m. | Thursday: 6 – 11 a.m. | Friday: 6 – 11 a.m. | Saturday: 6 – 11 a.m.

Oro Valley Aquatic Center Updates

  • The facility's improvement project has experienced delays related to the arrival of equipment necessary to the completion of the project. Due to these delays the project timeline has been extended and a new reopening date of Monday, February 13th is what we will be targeting. Please keep in mind that this situation is fluid and we will be sure to communicate any further delays that may present themselves. In order to alleviate this inconvenience towards our members, we will not be charging for memberships throughout the month of February. Month-to-month billing will resume March 1st, 2023. All paid in full memberships (6 month and 12 month) will be extended by an additional month. Current members may continue to utilize the Community Center pool until the Aquatic Center fully reopens. We understand that this is not ideal news and we apologize in advance for this disruption in service. Thank you again for your patience as we work to provide an even better OVAC for you to enjoy for many years to come. For more information, please call 520-297-7946 or visit orovalleyaz.gov and search for AQUATIC CENTER IMPROVEMENTS.
