As we enter into the new year, the Palm Beach Recreation Department is requiring all participants of Recreation programs (fitness, tennis, youth, and adult programs) to re-submit Proof of Residency in order to maintain Town of Palm Beach resident status.

The following items listing name and Town of Palm Beach residential address qualify as Proof of Residency:

-Palm Beach County tax receipt for the current year

-Unexpired State of Florida driver's license or vehicle registration

-A copy of a lease agreement for residential property or boat dockage for a period of at least 6 months

-A deed or other official document indicating ownership of residential property

-Any current utility bill listing the name and Palm Beach residential address

-Mail from a credit card company, bank, or other financial institution

(please redact account numbers)

-Voter's registration card

Proof of Residency may be emailed to [email protected] with the subject line "Proof of Residency" and must include your name, the name of members of your household participating in Recreation programs, current home address, phone number, and one of the items listed above.

Phipps Ocean Park Tennis Center New Seasonal Hours Have Begun

Phipps Tennis Center has extended our hours Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday until 5:00pm with the last court reservation being 3:30pm. Mondays, Thursdays, and Sundays remain 8:00am until 12:30pm.

The tennis court reservation system will remain the same.

Town of Palm Beach Residents who possess Annual or Play Passes can reserve one court up to 2 days in advance. Town of Palm Beach Residents without a pass and Nonresidents with Annual or Play Passes can reserve one court 1 day in advance.

Court Reservation line is from 12-12:30pm only.

Tennis Championship Series

Mark Your Calendars! The Town of Palm Beach Tennis Championship Series is designed to help us celebrate Palm Beach's Adult Championships throughout the season.

Anyone under the age of 13 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian while at the Mandel Recreation Center.

We are always looking to add new programs to the schedule. If you have a class you would like to teach or see added to the schedule, please email details to [email protected] with subject line: New Program Idea.

Perseverance League

Perseverance Basketball strives to teach the game the right way by a unique instructional style, with an age appropriate curriculum. Our particular set of "Perseverance in-game rules" are used to encourage competitiveness, skill development, sportsmanship, teamwork and fun!

Practice: Tuesdays

Kindergarten & 1st grade: 3:45 - 4:30pm 2nd & 3rd grade: 4:30 - 5:30pm*

2nd & 3rd grade 5:30 - 6:30pm*

4th & 5th grade: 6:30 - 7:30pm

6th-9th grade: 7:30 - 8:30pm

*once teams are made, practice times for this age groups teams will be announced.

Games: Saturdays

K & 1st grade: 11:00am - 12:00pm

2nd & 3rd grade: 12:00 - 1:00pm

2nd & 3rd grade 1:00 - 2:00pm

4th & 5th grade: 2:00 - 3:00pm

6th-9th grade: 3:00 - 4:00pm

Residents: $ 325/8 weeks

Nonresidents: $ 406/8 weeks

Includes team jersey

Practices will begin Tuesday, January 17.

The first week of games will begin on Sunday, January 22.

All other games will be held Saturdays beginning January 28.

Girls' Lacrosse Begins Jan. 15

Under the leadership of Molly & Cullen Miller, focus will be on game fundamentals, stick work, field positioning, conditioning, leadership, sportsmanship, and teamwork. Programs runs with divided fields. 

Sundays 4:00pm - 5:00pm

Kindergarten - 2nd grade

Residents: $300/8 weeks

Nonresidents: $375/8 weeks

Mix it Up Art

Find your inner Picasso with Rhythm & Hues while exploring a variety of different mediums throughout the session.

Mondays 3:30pm - 4:30pm

ages 5 - 12 years

Residents $280/8weeks

Nonresident $350/8weeks

Perseverance Basketball Youth & Adult Private Training

Our goal is to teach the fundamentals of the sport to your athlete with an emphasis catering towards the skill level and needs of each individual. We teach those goals through hard work, dedication, and diligence in the sport. Training sessions are held during open gym time slots.

Private Training: 1 Hour Training

Residents: $115/session Nonresidents: $144/session

Semi-Private Training (2-3 participants):

1 Hour Training

Residents: $75/person/session

Nonresidents: $94/person/session

Training sessions must be booked 2 days in advance. Payment is due at the time reservation is made.

All private training MUST be done through Perseverance Basketball. Outside trainers are not permitted per Town ordinance: Sec. 78-44-Vending (Code 1982, § 10-247) For more information call 561-838-5485 or to reserve your training session, call 561-410-0556.

Basketball Court Reservations

You may reserve a half or full court for a one or two hour block with a maximum of eight players. Players must bring their own equipment. Payment is due at time of reservation. Reservations may be made up to one week in advance, multiple reservations are allowed. Must be 13 years or older to reserve the court without adult supervision.

Half Court Fees:

Residents: $22+ tax

Nonresidents: $27+ tax

Full Court Fees:

Residents: $44+ tax

Nonresidents: $54+ tax

Adult Programs Spotlight

Total Body Conditioning

Join us for a full-body strength and conditioning class accessible to all fitness levels. This aerobics/weight-training focused class will stretch and strengthen every muscle group while getting the heart rate up.

Mix and Match FITNESS classes to create the ultimate workout experience and consider buying a series pass to save!

Mah Jongg for Beginners

Begins January 26

Join Gillian Kennedy Wright as she introduces players to the world of Mah Jongg. At the end of this six week program participants will be able to engage in a fluid game.

Thursdays 9:30am-10:30am

Resident: $360/ 6 weeks

Nonresident: $450/ 6 weeks 

Mah Jongg Social

Begins January 26 (6 weeks)

Join Gillian Kennedy Wright and your fellow Mah Jongg enthusiasts for a friendly game or two of this popular tile game played American Style with National Mah Jongg League Official Standard Hands and Rules. All skill levels are welcome. Space is limited to 20 players. Please register in advance.

Thursdays 10:30am-11:30am

Resident: $30/ 6 weeks

Nonresident: $38/ 6 weeks

Pickleball Clinics

Join our dedicated pickleball teaching professional Chaz Perryman for an hour of instruction alongside other pickleball players in our indoor Pickleball clinics at the Mandel Recreation Center. All levels welcome.

Fridays

11:30am - 12:30pm

$45 per person

Pickleball lessons are available on our indoor and outdoor courts. To book a pickleball lesson, call the Seaview Park Tennis Center at 561-838-5404.

Indoor Pickleball

You may reserve a pickleball court for a one or two hour block in the Smith Family Field House. Singles or doubles play is allowed. Players must bring their own equipment. Reservations must be made a day in advance to allow for set-up, and may be made up to a week in advance. Payment is due at time of reservation.

Resident: $25

Nonresident: $32

Outdoor Pickleball

Seaview Park Tennis Center has received some updates! Court 7 is now a multi-use court, with the recent addition of pickleball lines. Did you know studies show playing pickleball on clay puts less strain on the knees and joints, and can lead to longer rallies? Try it out today!

Reservations can be made one day in advance.

Outdoor Activity Court

The multi-use Activity Court, located on the west side of the Mandel Recreation Center, is available free of charge on a first come, first serve basis for pickleball play.
