The Drought Management Task Force has updated the drought status as of December 12, and while much of the state is out of drought, the Northeast Region has been elevated once again to Level 2: Significant Drought.

All of Middlesex County has been elevated to Level 2 Drought, including Townsend. For those communities still in Drought Status: observations of no flow made within a perennial River during drought conditions may not be used to argue the River is intermittent per 310 CMR 10.58(2)(a)1.f .
