Two Presentations on Thursday, March 9th
For 30 years, Laura Stack was best known in the business world as “The Productivity Pro.” Her career as a keynote speaker, bestselling author of eight books, and corporate spokesperson came to a screeching halt on November 20, 2019, when her 19-year-old son, Johnny, died by suicide after becoming psychotic from dabbing high-THC marijuana concentrates.
Laura responded by forming the nonprofit, Johnny’s Ambassadors, to educate parents, teens, and communities about the dangers of today’s high-THC marijuana on adolescent brain development, psychosis, and suicide.

Join Windsor Recreation and Dr. Rosemarie Coratola, Psy.D., LMFT from Hartford HealthCare’s Institute of Living for a special Community Conversation. This presentation is Wednesday, February 22 from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM at the Windsor Senior Center Cafe inside the L.P. Wilson Community Center.

Trip to Monster Jam!
Saturday, February 25 from Noon to 3:30 PM for Ages 8-13.
Come enjoy this thrilling experience with Windsor Recreation and YSB! Monster Jam will deliver massive trucks approximately 12 feet tall and wide. The tires are 66 inches and weigh at least 10,000 pounds. The trucks can travel up to 100 MPH and they can fly up to 125 to 130 feet out at up to 35 feet in the air. This is an amazing show that’s really an experience your kids will talk about for a long time.
Your child will witness world-class driver athletes and the most recognizable trucks like Grave Digger and Megladon! They will watch these massive trucks tear up the dirt and compete in intense competitions of speed and skill.
Full Moon Hike at Northwest Park
Tuesday, March 7 from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM at Northwest Park.
Come out to Northwest Park for a guided Full Moon Hike on Tuesday, March 7 from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM. Enjoy the beautiful trails and the full “Sap Moon” of March. Fee for this program is $12 person (Windsor resident) $16 per person (non-residents). Participants must preregister; space is limited.
CHR Mental Health First Aid Certification (MHFA)
March 18 & April 1 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Millbrook Clubhouse for ages 18 and older.
Adults are invited to join us for a 2 Part certification course taught by a Mental Health & First Aid (MHFA) Instructor from CHR.This course is available for Windsor Residents only. Lunch is provided. Pre-assessment is required before attending the first session.
Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) teaches you how to identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental health and substance use challenges among adults.
The Secret Lives of Owls
Saturday, March 11 from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM at Northwest Park.
Come out to Northwest Park for an exciting presentation about the Secret Lives of Owls on Saturday, March 11 from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM. The first 30 minutes of this program will be out on the trails with NWP staff, in hopes of observing owl behaviors and exploring their natural habitat. As this is owl mating season, there is increased chance to see the owls during daylight.
The remainder of the program will be a discussion in close proximity to live owls with Mary-Beth Kaeser of Horizon Wings Raptor Rehabilitation. This is your chance to be only a few feet away from a Northern Saw-Whet Owl, an Eastern Screech Owl, a Barred Owl, a Barn Owl and a Great-Horned Owl! Discover the extraordinary features of owls, including exceptional eyesight, hearing, and ability to fly silently.
Sponsored by the Friends of Northwest Park. Recommended for ages 8 and above. Preregistration needed. $8.00 per person (Windsor residents), $10.00 (non-residents). Free for Friends of Northwest Park members who are asked to call the Nature Center at 860-285-1886 for registration.
Find Your Pack With The Hartford Wolfpack Tickets
Saturday, February 18 Departing at 6:00 PM for the XL Center.
Come join us for a howling good time as we road trip to go see the Hartford Wolfpack take on the Providence Bruins! Bus departs the Senior Center at 6pm and game starts at 7pm and will depart the XL Center at the conclusion of the game. Ticket purchases available to all and transportation can be included for those 55+.
Classic Radio Play - Audience Needed

Do you ever reminisce about gathering around your radio in the living room and listening to plays like “Little Orphan Annie” and “Abbott and Costello”? Have you ever imagined yourself as Flash Gordon or other heroes of the era, fighting crime and getting laughs? Well, now you can!
The Senior Center will be presenting a production of Fibber McGee & Molly on at the Vintage Radio & Communications Museum of CT located on Pierson Lane in Windsor. We are currently enrolling individuals to join our audience and tickets are completely FREE!

Early Bird Supper
Tuesday, February 28 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Windsor Senior Center.
February’s Early Bird Supper will be cooked and served by members of Windsor’s own Junior Women’s Club. THANK YOU WJWC! Our menu will consist of spaghetti and meatballs, dinner rolls, garden salad and a dessert. You’ll also be entertained by the incredible musical talents of Victoria Rose. The cost to Windsor residents will be a donation of $8.00 and $10.00 for Non-residents. Signups can be done online or by calling (860) 285-1992.
Boys to Men
Mondays from March 6 to April 24 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the 330 Windsor Avenue Community Center for 6th-8th grade boys.
Boys to Men engages boys in activities, dialogue, and self-expression to question stereotypical concepts and to increase boys’ emotional, social, and cultural literacy. This program meets weekly for eight weeks on Mondays from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Dinner is provided at each session. Register online or at the Youth Services Bureau Office.
