Hartford, Conn. (February 3, 2025)?— United Way of Central and Northeastern Connecticut announced today that it has named Brandon Emerson as Chief Philanthropy Officer.
“I am eager to join United Way of Central and Northeastern Connecticut in its centennial year. Upon hearing the organization’s vision and reviewing its new Onward 860 strategic plan, I knew this was an opportunity to leverage the full breadth of my expertise while helping a pillar of the community achieve new heights,” said Emerson. “In my role as Chief Philanthropy Officer, I look forward to partnering with such a talented team to achieve our mission and strengthen the organization for the next century of work,” added Emerson.
This appointment was made in partnership with Koya Partners, an executive search and strategic advising firm dedicated to placing leaders who create lasting social impact.
“Throughout the search process, we were impressed with Brandon’s wealth of experience in strategic planning, fundraising, and nonprofit growth, coupled with a passion for our mission in addressing systemic challenges faced by families in our communities,” said Eric Harrison, President and CEO, United Way of Central and Northeastern Connecticut.
Emerson has had a robust career in nonprofit management and fundraising, most recently serving as Senior Director of Advisory Services at Orr Group, a leading consulting firm for nonprofits.
During Emerson’s time at Orr Group, he held several roles with increasing responsibility. Emerson successfully led planning processes for organizations with diverse goals, such as establishing new fundraising programs, redefining strategic objectives, and diversifying fundraising approaches to include planned giving opportunities.
Emerson holds a Master of Arts degree from SUNY Oneonta Cooperstown Graduate Program in New York and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Whitworth University in Washington.
