Just A Year Ago...
Yesterday, on May 24th, our country commemorated the one year anniversary of the mass school shooting at Robb Elementary School in Uvaldi Texas, where 21 innocent souls were gunned down by an 18 year old man, a former student of the school. Of those 21 fatalities...19 were children all between the ages of 9 and 11...
It seems that in the last several months, we keep hearingof another sober anniversary of a past mass shooting in this country. There have been so many...
Next year, we get to commemorate at least 202 mass shootings, just so far, this year. That equates to more mass shootings than days in the year.
I think at this point, this issue crosses over any political boundaries. I think at this point, we all have come to some sort of agreement that it is more than ridiculous to hunt down a human being with a firearm that obliterates a person beyond recognition. We all agree on that...don't we?
After the recent shooting in Allen , Texas, I was in a huge panic because my son lives in the vicinity and his home is about ten minutes from the mall where the gunman killed at least eight people. I didn't rest until I heard from my son, letting me know that he was ok. He was...however, his niece and her friend were in the parking lot, leaving the mall. Her friend was killed in the rampage and became one of a growing list of unbelievable carnage in 2023.
The familiarity of victims is becoming closer and closer...
The Texas governor stated that the problem isn't guns...the issue is that there are a lot of angry people out there...
duh...
But these angry people are using guns to take out their anger on innocents...
When the governor and enough of our lawmakers are touched by this violence, as I now have been, maybe then some serious gun laws will be passed.

Tooth Tips!
with Dr. Tania Farshi dds
We've invited Dr. Tania to come on in as our guest reporter and share dental tips and ideas with us from time to time...here we are with the latest in dental techniques!
- Digital Dentistry: The integration of digital technology in dentistry has continued to advance. This includes the use of CAD/CAM systems for creating digital impressions and fabricating restorations like crowns and bridges. 3D printing has also found applications in dentistry, allowing for the production of custom dental implants and prosthetics.
- Laser Dentistry: Laser technology is increasingly being utilized in various dental procedures. Lasers can be used for gum reshaping, treating periodontal disease, removing decay, and teeth whitening. Laser dentistry often offers improved precision, reduced pain, and faster healing times compared to traditional techniques.
- Minimally Invasive Dentistry: There is a growing emphasis on minimally invasive techniques to preserve as much natural tooth structure as possible. This includes the use of air abrasion and microabrasion for removing decay, along with the adoption of new materials and techniques for conservative restorations.
- Teledentistry: The use of telecommunication technology in dentistry has gained traction. Teledentistry allows for remote consultations, diagnosis, and treatment planning. It can be particularly useful for patients in rural or underserved areas who may have limited access to dental care.
- Dental Implants: Dental implant technology has continued to evolve, offering improved success rates and shorter treatment times. Innovations include techniques like immediate implant placement, computer-guided implant placement, and the use of materials like zirconia for implant restorations.

Recently, Staples Office Supply in North Hollywood sponsored and was the guest speaker at one of our mixers. They also supplied the raffle prizes (yes, we said PRIZES!) for the evening.
Unbeknownst to us, Staples then supplied us with enough raffle prizes for the entire summer!!
We are so grateful for the generous donation!! Thanks once again Staples!!
