Vice Mayor Jennifer Adams recently was elected to leadership of the National League of Cities (NLC) Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender+ Local Officials Constituency Group.  She is Second Vice President. 

NLC represents more than 200 million people across the country. The organization works to strengthen local leadership, influence federal policy and drive innovative solutions to issues that affect cities and towns. 

Constituency groups are caucuses within NLC that serve as a platform for municipal leaders to network, share insights and expertise, and advocate for policies, programs and resources that will continue to help their communities thrive. Each caucus reflects the diverse interests and backgrounds of NLC’s members and contributes to the organization’s leadership development, policy formulation, advocacy, and program activities.  

Established in 1993, LGBTQ+LO serves as a vehicle for members to discuss problems and explore solutions, debate policy issues, and contribute to the success of American cities and towns such as discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation and the disproportionate impact of the pandemic on the  LGBTQ+ community.
