The Board of County Commissioners, in partnership with the TAPS Committee, will honor the 50th anniversary remembrance of the end of the Vietnam War at the annual Vietnam Veterans Day Ceremony.
This will be held at the TAPS monument at 915 Walnut Street, Green Cove Springs, in the Historic Triangle, and everyone is welcome to attend.
This ceremony is to recognize, honor, and thank our Vietnam veterans and their families for their service and sacrifice during one of the longest wars in our country’s history.
National Vietnam War Veterans Day (on March 29th) is a commemorative holiday in the United States that recognizes the sacrifices veterans and their families made during the Vietnam War. It's also a day to give recognition to the men and women who returned home from that war and didn’t receive a proper welcome home. Welcome home, Vietnam Veterans!
The Board of County Commissioners is proud to join other local government offices, law enforcement, public safety, and education entities in this event. The ceremony will include recognition of Vietnam veterans, guest speakers, a wreath laying, the reading of names on the monument, and music.
