From: Walker Fine ArtDerrick Breidenthal has a solo exhibition, Pulse, opening October 6th, 2023 at Moberg Gallery in Des Moines, IA. His new large-scale paintings are views of above - luscious swirls of color and milky, smoky, brushstrokes. Cloud cover lets whatever sunlight spread, to focus the viewer’s eye on the edges and the halation which hover around, above, and beyond us, always.
Allison Svoboda is on a residency in Toffia, Italy a small 14th century town outside of Rome in the beautiful Sabina Hills. She will be creating cyanotypes, a photo process discovered in 1840 and used by the botanist Anna Atkins in the 19th century. Svoboda will be showing her cyanotypes created on canvas in Italy for the fall group exhibition at WFA opening November 10.
Bonny Lhotka is leading a special event workshop at Adobe Max October 8-11 teaching the newVintage Tintype Inkjet Image Transfer process she developed and uses in her work. This is part of Russell Brown’s Wild West Show Pre-Conference session. This is her 18th year of participating in Adobe MAX Conferences events.
Additionally, Lhotka will be exhibiting a unique installation of her development of a new print process for her art at Adobe Max. The AI uvFlux print has been developed by Bonny Lhotka as a specialized use of UV flatbed printing.
Lee Heekin will be participating in Boulder County’s Juried Open Studio tour the first two weekends in October from 12-5 PM. Open Studios is more than just the annual studio tour. Since 1995, the organization has grown to encompass numerous programs and projects designed to raise awareness and appreciation of art in our community. This tour helps promote the visual arts in Boulder while connecting art appreciators and makers alike. Heekin’s studio #50 is located at 3696 Martinique Ave, Boulder Co 80301, and is rarely open to the public so feel free to go check it out!
