CHARLESTON, WV - The West Virginia Symphony Orchestra (WVSO) kicks off its ZMM Architects and Engineers Pops Series with the beloved holiday classic, Sounds of the Season on Dec. 6-8 in Lewisburg, Charleston, and Parkersburg.
Led by Music Director Maurice Cohn, the WVSO brings holiday joy to the stage while Santa and friends ring in the season with music, fun, and magic! Selections include favorites like “White Christmas” and pieces from The Nutcracker and The Polar Express. Also featured will be arrangements from WV composer Matt Jackfert and a can’t miss rendition of fan-beloved “Sleigh Ride”. In Charleston, the WV Symphony Chorus, Parkersburg Symphony Chorus, and singers from the University of Charleston will join the WV Symphony for a melodious second half.
“Music is an essential part of what makes the holidays magical, connecting us to our family, our friends, and our traditions in ways that nothing else can,” said Music Director Maurice Cohn. “We are honored every year to get to play this special role in our community and are excited to present familiar tunes alongside some fun new favorites in our Sounds of the Season program—including, of course, a special appearance of Santa himself!”
