VIRGINIA – Following a shake up in Winsome Earle-Sears’ campaign, former Republican State Senator Amanda Chase – “Trump in heels”– entered the primary field and attacked Sears saying she “has encountered some pretty serious issues with her campaign.” Her announcement follows former Republican Delegate Dave LaRock filing paperwork to enter the primary with a promise to enact a “Virginia DOGE.”  The once “straightforward” race is getting even messier with Republican infighting and a chaotic primary field concerned more with Trump’s approval than Virginians.

Cardinal News Op-Ed: Earle-Sears draws two challengers for Republican nomination: Chase and LaRock

    • “What for awhile seemed a straightforward governor’s race got a lot more complicated Wednesday when not one but two new candidates for the Republican nomination surfaced.”

    • “Both LaRock and Chase rapped Earle-Sears for being insufficiently supportive of President Trump, which seems to be their main reason for running.”

Richmond Times-Dispatch: Amanda Chase, 'Trump in heels,' running for governor again

    • “Chase, a prominent election denier, is a second potential GOP candidate who is questioning the lieutenant governor's loyalty to President Donald Trump.”

    • “‘When I ran last time, I was called ‘Trump in heels’ because of my full-hearted support for the president,’ Chase said.”

  • “Chase has a long list of controversies during and after her Senate tenure.”
