Drawn from Memory and Lessons from the Holocaust

Tuesday, April 11.  7-8 PM.

99% of Danish Jews survived the Holocaust despite Nazi occupation. Other nations lost 50-80% of their Jewish populations. What was the historical context in Denmark? What can we learn from those Danes today about how to protect people in our community? Join us for a discussion with Laura Hatosy, author of the young adult novel Drawn from Memory.

Chocolate Talk & Tasting 101 with Therapy Gardens

Tuesday, April 18.  7-8 PM.

They say eating chocolate releases endorphins that make you happy. Let's find out if it's true!

Come try an array of gourmet chocolate delights brought to you by Therapy Gardens. Milk, dark, and LOW sugar chocolate will be offered for sampling.

Learn about the ingredients, processing and where cocoa pods are grown. We will also share tips on where to get quality chocolate.

More than 60 Massachusetts public libraries have partnered to offer the 50+ Job Seekers Networking Group program to support people fifty years and older looking for a new job, a new career direction, or a Second Act career. Take advantage of these free biweekly skillbuilding and networking group meetings. A new topic will be covered at each meeting. Attendance at each session is not necessary – but highly recommended!

Retro Recipes - Teen Cooking Class

Wednesday, April 19.  2-4 PM.
What were people eating in the 1960s? What about the 1940s? The 1880s? Join us for a super special cooking event to learn how to bake a selection of retro recipes using real antique cookbooks from the Woburn Library's Glennon Archives. This program is in partnership with the Boys & Girls Club of Woburn and will be held in their state-of-the-art kitchen. In small groups, you will be baking either a cookie, cake, pie, or pudding recipe, then we will share our delicious creations with everyone and get to take home copies of all the recipes!
