The University of Michigan Comprehensive Diabetes Center is hosting their 7th Annual U-M Diabetes Health Fair on Saturday, November 16, 2013, from 9:00 a.m. to noon at the Sheraton Ann Arbor Hotel, 3200 Boardwalk (across State Street from Briarwood Mall, off I-94 exit 177). FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC! There will be screenings (as time and supplies permit) for blood pressure, cholesterol, and blood sugar/A1c; urine screenings for kidney disease; assessments of obesity risk and Body Mass Index; foot exams for people with diabetes; and eye exams for diabetic retinopathy. The event includes three presentations on diabetes topics. In addition, the latest information on diabetes prevention and treatment will be offered by U-M Health System medical professionals, along with exhibits on diabetes medical supplies and medications. 9:30-10:15 am: Nutrition Lecture by ADA National Outstanding Educator in Diabetes (2012) Robin Nwankwo, MPH, RD, CDE, Diabetes Educator and Researcher, University of Michigan Medical School

10:30-11:00 am: "My Diabetes: Patient Stories" - Two patients, one adult and one pediatric, will share their journey with diabetes.

11:15 am-12:00 pm: "Ask the Experts: Panel Discussion" - Including a dietitian/diabetes educator, a nurse/diabetes educator, a physician, a clinical social worker, and a clinical psychologist
