Since its inception in 1958, AARP - a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization with a membership that helps people 50+ to live their best life - has grown and changed dramatically in response to societal changes, while remaining true to its founding principles: to promote independence, dignity and purpose for older persons, to enhance the quality of life for older persons and to encourage older people "To serve, not to be served"
As a direct link to the local community, AARP Chapter 1952 (one of Georgia's oldest chapter - founded/incorporated November 7, 1974) plays a vital role in AARP's ongoing success. Local chapters advance the mission, programs and activities of AARP - supporting it with goals and objectives set across a range of functions, including Community Service, Communication, Recruitment, Fellowship, Advocacy and Education.
IF YOU DON'T THINK "REAL POSSIBILITIES" WHEN YOU THINK AARP, THEN YOU DON'T KNOW "aarp!"
