Advent Lutheran Church is a growing, involved congregation of Christians together on a deepening spiritual journey.
We are a community of faith who realizes God's gifts and uses them for loving care, service and outreach.
Advent Lutheran Church was formed in 1984 when the congregations of Grace in Hartville and St. John in Uniontown agreed to merge. The new congregation decided to locate where it is now and broke ground in September of that year. As you enter the building you may notice two cornerstones in the foyer; these are from each of the churches that merged to form Advent. Other reminders of our roots include the cross from the steeple to the left of the main entrance and the stained glass windows in the narthex from St. John's and the pipe organ from Grace. Advent is truly something old and something new because of the long standing Lutheran heritage its people have in the community.
Advent has grown rapidly since 1984. In September of 1992 the congregation approved a second building program to provide much needed space to the facility. The 9,600 square foot addition includes fellowship space, thirteen new classrooms and additional parking.
