Mission:

The Aitkin County Historical Society is a non-profit 501(c)(3) county organization entrusted with the documentation, preservation and dissemination of information and materials pertinent to the history of Aitkin County, Minnesota.

The long-term vision and purpose of the Aitkin County Historical Society shall be:

The collection, preservation and dissemination of historical information and materials pertinent to the history of Aitkin County, Minnesota.

To elevate the interest in Aitkin County history by the dissemination of the historical information to interested persons, groups and institutions.

To enhance the awareness of the museum and the Historical Society with continued programs for students, the public and other organizations as deemed appropriate by the Board of Trustees.

To provide a continued source of historical information available to everyone at the present as well as for future generations.
