Our History
Aledo Christian Center started as a Bible study and prayer meeting in the home of Pastor Grady and Rose Barton in February of 1972. The Lord brought together people from many different backgrounds and denominations. He healed them, delivered them, filled them with the Holy Spirit, and they went out telling others what the applied Word of God had done in their lives.
In early 1973 we became a church and continued to meet in the Barton's home for another year. In 1974 we moved to our present location in Aledo, and in 1981 we started a Christian school with grades K-12.
We now have 30 acres of land on the highest hill in Aledo overlooking the city. We have already built a softball field and a combination soccer and flag football field, and we expect to move the church and school to this location in the future.
Our Vision
The vision of our church is to obey the Great Commission (Matt.28:19,20) by making disciples and training them to observe the commandments of Jesus. They will thereby become leaders who will have a Godly impact on their families, their communities, and ultimately the nation
We believe in one eternal God, manifest in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Deuteronomy 6:4, Matthew 28:19).
We believe in the deity and Lordship of Jesus Christ: born of a virgin, crucified, buried, risen from the dead, ascended to the right hand of the Father, and coming again in glory!
We believe that the Bible is the holy, inspired, inerrant Word of God (II Timothy 3:16).
We believe repentance -- a change from ungodly thinking and behavior to righteous thinking and behavior -- is a necessary step to salvation
