The early days of the church were found to be days of transition. Ambassador Baptist finds its roots going back to November 20, 1983, when individuals gathered at Adam Brown's barn on Ridgewood Rd. to hold services. Alex Sekulich was called at that time to oversee the duties of pastor and did so until July 1, 1984. Then on August 22, 1984 Otto Perry was called as pastor and the formation of the Ambassador Baptist Church was begun. Soon Jerry Hackworth was brought on staff and Brother Perry resigned not long thereafter. Brother Hackworth was officially made pastor on April 14, 1985 and served the Lord well. He resigned on May 27, 2001. Dwayne Batten assumed pastoral duties on August 12, 2001 until September 22, 2002. Then the mantle was passed on to Michael Decker on October 27, 2002.
The Church purchased the current facility in January 1985 for $75,000.00. The value of the complex today is estimated to be nearly $3 million. God has been so wonderful to the church and it is thrilling to anticipate what He has in store in the days ahead. This IS His church, these ARE His ministries and we ARE His people.
