Amboy is a great school, with great staff and students. Even though some people don't like the fact that it is way out in the hills. The way I see it is that that makes the learning all the better.
When you go to a school in Battle Ground or in La Center, there are a lot of other things that go on around the school. There are restaurants, major businesses, and cars going by all the time. But in our school there are no restaurants or major businesses around and very rarely do cars ever go by. But that's just the location.
The school sits on 36 acres, with three buildings (upper, lower, and the gym) and six portables.
The lower building consists of the office, seven seventh grade classes and seven eighth grade classes and one staff lunch room in the same hall as the eighth grade classes. There are three portables bye the lower building. One portable is two, sixth grade classes and the other is a special education class, and the last one is the nurse's office and the psychiatrist's office. And the play ground is also part of the lower building.
The upper building consists of six classes plus the two portable classes. Five of them are fifth grade classes, two of them are sixth grade classes and the two portables are also six grade classes. The last class in the building is a special education class. Then right next to the sixth grade portables are the music portable and the gymnasium.
In the gymnasium (Gym) is a stage and a net in the middle of the court that drops down and makes two courts. For PE, kids have their own locker in the Gym and the girls get one side of the gym for their lockers and the boys get the other. In each locker room there are showers and bathrooms.
