The Academy of Missouri Educational Network of Graduate Dogs, Inc. (AMEN DOGS) is a non profit community based organization that was birthed from a seven fold vision. 1)To provide transitional living opportunity for those needing life skills and experiential education. 2)To provide residential temporary housing along with continued educational programs. 3)To provide training, diversion programs and counseling by licensed family therapist to address emotional needs and to help ensure success with work ethics, people skills and job skills. 4)To teach Animal Behavior and Animal Therapy as a tool to help participants better understand their own human behaviors and integrate leadership skills as well as develop a sensitivity to team concepts. 5)To train and place Service and Support Dogs that will improve the quality of living for those who need them. 6)To train those chosen as recipients for their Service Dogs to learn the commands and to handle the dogs especially trained for them. This will also exercise the people skills needed for future employment. 7)To Network those who have completed our program and place them throughout other correctional and/or residential facilities in our country, giving them jobs and equipping them to pass on their training and life skills to others.
