About Us
The Mississippi Chapter is affiliated with the American Parkinson Disease Association (APDA), the world's "largest grassroots organization dedicated to fighting Parkinson's". The MS Chapter is one of over 65 Chapters of the APDA. The MS Chapter of the APDA (Chapter) is a nonprofit organization established to improve the quality of life for Mississippians and their families living with Parkinson's Disease.
The Chapter offers membership and sponsorship opportunities to help fund special programs and raise funds for research to find a cure for PD. Some of these special programs include; Annual Parkinson Disease Conference, Young Onset Parkinson Disease (YOPD) Retreat, Annual Walk-a-thon and other fundraiser programs.
The Chapter's members are our greatest supporters, giving of their time, talents, and financial resources to strengthen the grassroots effort. It is only through their dedication to heighten Parkinson Disease awareness in our communities, the Chapter will achieve its goal of reaching all persons living with Parkinson's (PWP) in the state of Mississippi.
