AmeriCorps is a National Service organization seeking to improve our global community.
AmeriCorps of McHenry County serves our local community through peer mentoring and various community service projects. AmeriCorps members commit to one year of service within McHenry County. The primary role of members is to act as peer mentors to struggling youth within our community. Members receive over 40 hours of training prior entering a mentoring relationship. While in their term of service, members earn a small living stipend. Upon successful completion of their term members earn a Segal Education Award. This award can be used towards tuition and/or student loans.
